MICHELIN COMMITMENT

We are committed to provide safety to drivers when the tyres are new, even when they are worn(1), thanks to our latest innovations, MICHELIN Primacy 4 and MICHELIN CrossClimate+

SUSTAINABLE AND WINNING CHOICE FOR CONSUMERS
  • Save time and money by replacing tyres only when they are fully worn(*)
  • Reduce fuel consumption thanks to decrease of rolling resistance
  • Minimize environment waste(2)

MICHELIN CrossClimate + : mobility on snow (English)

MICHELIN CrossClimate +:

OUR WISH FOR THE TYRE SECTOR

INTRODUCE MANDATORY USED TYRE TESTS, IN ADDITION TO CURRENT TESTS ON NEW TYRES

Do not replace tyres before their legal limit for:

  • avoiding unnecessary consumer spendings while ensuring their safety and quality over time
  • and thus protect the environment.

Indeed, while the legislation in most countries sets the legal wear level at 1.6 mm(7), some manufacturers recommend to anticipate the tyre change at 3 mm.

We therefore wish to fight planned obsolescence.

OUR COMMITMENT: LIMIT THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

The Michelin strategy is to develop sustainable mobility solutions by limiting the environmental impact of our products and our production activities.

WE CALCULATED THAT EVERY YEAR IN EUROPE, IF ALL TYRES WERE USED UP TO THE LEGAL LIMIT OF 1.6MM(7):

Nearly 128 MILLION
tyres would be saved(2)

That is to say € 6.9 BILLON(8) EXPENSES saved for drivers

That is to say 6.6 MILLION tons of CO2 saved(2)
